I saw this on Facebook, and I am so excited because I have never seen this on Tumblr! Did I get to spread something NEW??? All joking aside, this idea is great for any tiny dwelling and I bet you could make and fit them all over the place for different uses. I am sorry the link in the picture isn’t clickable, it was a screen capture. Maybe it will work here: www.instructables.com/id/Hidden-Fridge-Gap-Slide-Out-Pantry/

This is amazing!

I built one of these for my kitchen and two smaller ones, one for each side of my bathroom sink. Super easy builds and super helpful. I use them every day

Sweet! Thank you!

oh my god. if storage were in any way an issue in my kitchen (this house was built in 1951 and has more cabinets than all the apartments i’ve ever lived in combined.) i would be losing my shit right now. as it is, i’m pretty sure a LOT of you could use something like this.

Fortunately I think we’ll have sufficient cabinet space in our new house, but this is still a marvelous idea for folks for whom space is a premium (and who can do something like this or know someone who could).

Things we desperately need for the 924867590 spices taking up our counterspace holy crap.

Resin inlaid chestnut shelves

var imagebase='file://D:/Program Files (x86)/FeedReader/'; Resin inlaid chestnut shelves (19 Pics) 13:13 11.08.2014, Maxx, World Of Technology Big old cracked, knotholed, spalted piece of chestnut we got cheap from the timber yard. Time to tidy it up and make it good to go on the wall.
Sealing the holes with aluminium tape.
Set it somewhere good and level otherwise the resin will be a mess.
Ready to mix
Bag of pigment. Traditionally resin inlay is colour-matched to the wood, but I'm going down a different path.
Resin mixed up and standing a little to let the bubbles bubble out. Told you this wasn't a traditional inlay.
Poured into the big crack.
Doing a bit of a Clever with this edge.
Awwww yeah. This is going to look amazing. Now only the long, long job of planing, carding and sanding this lot flat.
Getting there.
The first coat of oil. They got about eight thin coats of boiled linseed oil.
Chopped up and ready for the wall.
Brackets installed.
Some spare bits of walnut for the other brackets.
And here they are. In daylight.
Later in the day, as it's getting darker, the glow resin really starts to come into its own.
It's on the bottom of the top shelf, so it's visible in normal use.
Wall robot approves.
Another angle. Now we just need some jars of pickles and stuff to fill these up with.

Tori Sugimura's Miniature Shoji Screens Hide Power

0toricraft-01.jpg

After spotting the photo below (which is one of those endlessly, shamelessly Pinterested-shots with no attribution, making tracking down the original creator impossible), Nagoya-based Tori Sugimura figured he'd try making a traditional Japanese version.

0toricraft-02.jpg

After successfully learning to craft his tiny power-outlet-covering sliding shoji screen doors, he caught the attention of a Japanese television show; the original clip is here, for Japanese speakers. Interest in Sugimura's wares subsequently exploded, and they're for sale on his Tori Craft website.
